AR: The Continuation is a unique, literate, non-canon feline roleplay forum that is unlike any other roleplay of its kind on the web. Created in June 2009 by Kestrel, the site is currently run by Crescent, Inaya and Vegas.

The proud nation of the People's Republic of China, in the year 2025, is home to over 3.5 billion people. The nation is overcrowded and living conditions are terrible. To make room and to fend off disease, felines have been rounded off the street and packed into crates bound for Australia. One of the cargo ships transporting these felines encountered a horrendous typhoon near an unknown archipelago several thousand miles north of its destination. Of the 10,000 crates aboard, each containing 40 felines on average, some 60 were freed and were flung overboard into the maelstrom before the ship continued on its way. By the time the storm had passed and the last of the crates had been swept ashore on a large, uninhabited island, only a couple hundred felines remained; the rest were lost to the sea or to starvation.
The felines quickly learned that if they were to survive in this new, unknown place, they had to band together for support. By now, five brave felines, Cobalt, Cyphrr, Mercury, Kestrel and Saffron, had formed five tribes of felines known as Amandis, Legardis, Celtime, Oakran and Selvlin. Terrible misfortunes claimed the lives of three of these leaders, Cobalt, Cyphrr and Kestrel - so now, their tribes are left without leadership. Celtime, the largest of these tribes, continues to gain members at an alarming rate, though the Selvlin tribe's prosperity is beginning to pose a threat to Mercury and the Celtime cats. Who will triumph - or will a new star rise, now that three others have fallen?
Summer was long and dry, but at last, the hottest time of the year is drawing to a close. This upcoming winter will not be particularly wet, but it will be cold.

March 8, 2010:
Holy frick, I haven't updated in a long time. I apologize for that...February is an insane month at my school, as is March, but to a lesser extent. I haven't been doing my part as an admin, and I understand that. I'm working on it.
But I need you guys to do your part, too. I'm not naming names, 'cause you know exactly who you are, but a lot of members here need to step it up a bit. A couple of members have joined and haven't posted biographies, yet - while friendships are important, AR is a roleplay forum, not a chat room. And guys, please, for the sake of my sanity if nothing else, try to log in and post at least once a week: it's do-able. If I can do it, anyone can.
AR is not going to die. If we go kind of inactive for a while, that's fine. It happens to every site. But AR is what I like to call a "slow burn" kind of site - we'll last a long time if everyone pitches in.
Peace.

Tribe Updates
Amandis
Amandis continues to grow quickly and is posing a threat to Celtime, with whom their territory shares a border. Under Hawk's leadership, the tribe is prospering and Kadaver and Calix have joined its ranks.
Legardis
Astridaine has become leader of Legardis and has claimed the strategic Paludis lands for her tribe.
Celtime
After much persuasian, Inaya and Shayd have joined Celtime's ranks and the tribe continues to grow quickly. Amandis' rapid growth is posing a threat to Celtime, though. What would be brewing between the two largest tribes?
Oakran
Lucian, leader of Oakran, has claimed the Silva for his tribe.
Selvlin
Saffron, leader of Selvlin, has claimed the forested parts of the river Vena in the name of her tribe.
Make sure you check this board regularly, 'cause this is where all site-wide announcements will go - most importantly, this is where activity checks will be held.
This is the one encyclopedia you'll be glad to have read. Another of the most important locales on the site, this is where the site rules and guidelines are kept - make sure you familiarize yourself with this information, because yes, you will be quizzed. (:
A place for members to create logs for their characters, this is basically a character timeline so roleplayers can keep track of where their cats were and when they were there.
The Roleplayer's Directory, or a list of who plays whom, is also located here.
Every site has one, unless it's run by sadistic bastards who don't want to make friends. So, come here to spam us or to befriend us, because we're not sadistic bastards.

We're sad that you have to leave, whether it be for a few days or forever. But, for your convenience and everyone else's, please let us know when you're leaving and how long you'll be gone, so we know when to plan your return party.
This is where the old or dead threads go when it's their time. These threads are locked and cannot be replied to, though feel free to browse if you need some context.
This is the staff lounge, where your favourite authoritarian figures come to plot world domination and to otherwise talk amongst ourselves. Don't worry, we don't gossip.
With the continuous crash of the waves on the beach, more and more crates were washed ashore. The white sand glistens in the sun, hot on a cat's paws in the heat of the day, and the turquoise waters are clear and warm.
This is non-claimable territory. New characters post here and wait to be claimed by a leader.
Not too far inland, near the far border of the Adventum lands, exist a few crystal-clear, freshwater pools created by a small underground branch of the river Vena. The water in these pools is too cold to swim in, but the sandstone boulders make for excellent sunning and the shade surrounding most of the pools is quite refreshing in the summer.
This is non-claimable territory. Cats who have not been claimed yet may socialize and interact here.
Just up the beach, the ground beneath the sands grows closer and closer to the surface, elevating higher and higher above the blue of the ocean as the flat beach becomes a cliff. Here, unclaimed felines may keep watch of the happenings on the beach below and may relax in the sun as they await companionship.

A large, forest-like area in which conifers dominate, though a few towering deciduous hardwoods rise up here and there. Many small creeks, lined with mossy riverbanks and smooth-worn pebbles, wind through these trees.
A narrow, fast-flowing river winds its way through the forest, collecting water from each of the small creeks in the Cretum region. The whole forest serves as this river's watershed, and, untouched by man, the water is clean and cold. This is the largest river on the island, though, at its forest roots, it is yet small, though it will grow to form the borders of plains and deserts and to carve great canyons into the rocks. Dozens of fish species can be found in these sapphire waters, as well as many varieties of small rodents.
Large boulders from a nearby ravine as the continental plates surrounding the island shifted over several millennia. Some are spaced far apart and form cavelike shelters, whereas some are packed tightly together and take a strong, agile feline to maneuver. The many crevasses in the rocks may house many an edible critter - but watch out for snakes.
Before the beaches evolve into marshlands, the dunes stretch for miles. Marshland trees and grasses cling to the moist sand and soil, and small tidal pools filled with crustaceans and small fish spring up closer to the marshlands. A narrow branch of the river Vena forms a barrier between the marshes and the dunes.
As the earth underfoot grows damper, more and more grasses cover the dunes until the river is crossed and one enters into the marshlands. Not a dank, smelly place as wetlands are generally perceived as, baywater pools and tall reeds and grasses combined with a mossy earthbed create one of the most advantageous and strategic territories on the island. Parts of the marshland are quite dry, dotted with large, flat, low-lying boulders for sunning, whereas others are quite damp and serve as home to crustaceans, fish, and the occasional terrapin who has lost its way.
Closer to the ocean, the marshlands become tidepools. Large, flat sandstone boulders high enough above sea level remain dry all the time, and a few groves of deciduous wetland trees gather farther inland. Closer to the bay, tidepools are formed between the rocks, where fish swim between the conjoined pools and the bay and small seabirds swoop down to catch them.
As a serpent parts the grasses it slithers through, the largest branch of the river Vena, now wider and stronger, has made its scores through the layers of sandstone in its path. The canyon created is half a mile deep - not enormous on a global scale, but large for the island and for its inhabitants. A few groves of trees grow in the fertile grasslands surrounding the riverbed, and as it approaches the sea, the canyon forms an impassable cliff and a spectacular waterfall as freshwater meets saltwater.
Winds whisper through the tall prairie grasses that cover the whole extent of the hills, long since evolved from dunes after being claimed by flora. A few low, crowned, broadleaf trees and towering deciduous hardwoods spread under the warming sun.
During a lightning storm several years ago, at the border of the dunes and the grasslands, a brushfire scorched hundreds of acres of some of the most beautiful fields on the island. Now a barren wasteland, brush and scrub trees are just beginning to break through the soil once again, but copious amounts of prey still call these lands home.
